One of the most impressive and relaxing rooms is the "fresh honeydew melon and white" bathroom located upstairs and directly across from the fourth bedroom. The bathroom has the original 1924 cast iron slipper tub that has been fashioned with an oak timber cradle and a wormy chestnut step. The fixtures are porcelain and the ceiling is the original heart-pine bead-board. A large stained glass "water iris" adorns the window directly in front of the tub. Here, you will feel like you've been swept away into a dollhouse world with life-size bubble-baths.

The Master bedroom, is downstairs located at the end of the hall on the right, is our warm "tomato basil, olive and cream" queen-sized bedroom with a wormy chestnut, brick and tiled fireplace. The furniture is Ethan Allen and has a writing desk and shelves. The floors are heart-pine, rich and dark and two personal closets. The room contains a private tile bathroom that Great-Grandmother Clara had built in the '50's.

The second bedroom is located directly at the top of the stairs on the right and is our "mocha and cherries" room. The double-sized bed was my Great-Grandmother Henry's metal bed and is a cozy space for reading and enjoying the view from the room just over the kitchen.

The third bedroom has one king-size bed made of old-growth laurel from the property. The "blue moss and taupe" dressed room is spacious and western facing with views overlooking the fields, stream and runway. One of the most restful nights awaits you in this magical room. An antique castle tapestry drapes the wall in front of the bed taking you to a time long-past.

The fourth bedroom, located across from the upstairs bathroom, has many shades of green and including green velvet curtains. The room has a hand-painted Canadian poplar poster bed. The scene is of "hummingbirds in a vineyard" and also has a tapestry floral couch. The room sports a view of of the end of the runway. The runway lights at night are spectacular and are colored red, white and blue.

The formal dining room is to the left, through the pocket-doors as you enter the house from the hall. Decorated in original heart-pine trim, the antique-blue walls are reminiscent of "twilight in the snow". The ceiling is adorned with an gothic-style acorn chandelier and are matched throughout the halls with a similar acorn motif. The paintings are of the Ramsey Farmhouse in the 1930's in Winter and Summer. Also hangs a painting of the airport runway. The dining room table is also constructed of wormy-chestnut and oak which pre-dates the house. The view is framed by a matching diamond patterned leaded glass window and also offers a spectacular view of the fields.
The Parlor is immediately on the right, through the pocket-doors as you enter the hall from the front door. Decorated in the colors of 1920's "saddle shoes" and adorned with Scotch-Irish tartan fabrics throughout, the parlor was and still is the center of family gatherings. The fireplace is constructed out of wormy chestnut barn-wood (from the original barn on the property), brick and 1920's style tiles. The bookcase is a work of art in itself, with waterfall glass and plaster backing. The heart-pine ceiling and floors are in excellent condition and will take you back to a time when families read and made music by fire-light and took visitors in "the parlor". The front window is a enchanting diamond patterned leaded glass and offers a generous view as far as the eye can see.
The kitchen is a classically elegant "butter cream" cooking space. The medallion ceiling draws the eye upwards and naturally to the huge picture-window that overlooks a view of the original pioneer road that lead to the 1876 home place. Wildlife is frequently seen from this view, such as red-headed woodpeckers, catamounts and grazing deer. The appliances are stainless steel and the countertops and window sill are tile. The sink was Great-Grandmother Clara's double side-board sink and the space is warmed by a gas-log stove.
Upon entering the front door, one will be greeted by a warm, sun-kissed hallway, lined in rich bead-board molding and a large staircase with a window at the top. Great- Grandmother Clara's hand-stitched quilt hangs on the staircase wall and softly catches the breeze that comes down the hollow. A rectangular stained-glass piece is hung in the window and captures the southern exposure. An elegant banister graces the upstairs and is a perfect place for a bride to make her entrance.
